SCOUTING FOR 50 YEARS - Posted on August 13 by Gary Keen

Stretton Scout Group was established on 14th August 1964.
This means that we are celebrating 50 years of Scouting this month.
We have a long list of activities planned both adventurous, fun and fundraising throughout the coming year. Look out on our event page for more information, or find us on facebook by searching Stretton Scout Group.

Well done and thank you to all who have made it possible over the years to keep Scouting going in Stretton and to develop the young people of Stretton into the people they are today.

I am proud to say that I have been part of Stretton Scout Group for over 22 years in some way and I hope to continue for as long as possible.

Happy Anniversary and good luck for the future.

Stretton Scout Group goes Golden! - Posted on April 25 by Gary Keen

2014 is a special year for Stretton Scout Group as we celebrate our 50th Birthday.

Look out for some exciting events run by our Fundraising Team like a Golden Garden Party and a Charity Auction, more details to follow.

In the meantime we are looking to grow the Group and give as many children the opportunity to expeirence the Scouting adventure.

With our Beaver Colony full to bursting, a lengthy waiting list of 30+ children aged between 2-7 years and enquiries being received on a weekly basis from children wanting to join, WE NEED TO ACT FAST!

We have the availability to run another Beaver colony but NO ADULT LEADERS to run it and our current Colony is in need of more helpers too.

We are a highly sucessful, extremely popular Scout Group at the heart of Stretton Community, we want to continue to offer Scouting to as many as possible.

If you are 18 years of age or older and can spare as little as one hour a month, can pass a CRB check, and would like to help young children develop in many ways through adventure, education and new experiences then please get in touch.

The Scout Association offers a fully supported training programme, insurance and many benefits for all adults, not to mention employers love it on a CV.
